Head of Strategic Excellence / Head of Strategic Project (m/f/d)

Responsibilities​​​​​​

As Head of Strategic Projects at Gala Group you will play a key role in the transformation and further development of our company and will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of value creation and expansion plans as the “right hand person” of the CEO.

  • Leading challenging and strategic projects such as carve-outs, negotiations with external stakeholders and strategy development to drive the growth of the company

  • Work closely with top management and internal departments to develop strategic issues as a sparring partner

  • Lead the project management office (PMO) to track the implementation status of initiatives

  • Apply and further develop best practice approaches and tools to optimise our business processes (e.g. PMO tools)

  • Monitoring market and industry trends as well as competitive analysis in order to react to changes at an early stage and position the company strategically

  • Support the further implementation of the ESG Strategy including regular monitoring of agreed actions and taking a leading role at the Certification Project

  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and strategic thinking within the project teams and the company as a whole

  • Coaching and developing the project teams to continuously increase their performance and expertise

    Key Competencies and Qualifications

    • Degree in business, engineering or a related discipline

    • At least 2-4 years of professional experience in the development and implementation of strategic measures, preferably in strategy consulting or in-house consulting

    • Strong analytical skills and experience in dealing with complex issues

    • Understanding of requirements for a private equity-led company (M&A, bank reporting, exit preparation)

    • Entrepreneurial thinking and enthusiasm for German SMEs

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills in German and English

    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

    • Empathy and team player with a strong solution orientation and proactive working style

    Responsibilities

    • As Innovation Manager you drive ideas for new products and segments; Based on sales data, market surveys/gap analysis, consumer insights, competitive analysis and market and design trends you recognize trends early on and focus on potentials for new inventions for market success in Candles, home fragrance and home décor.
    • You drive the internal innovation process and ensure the competitiveness of new product developments in the targeted channels.

    Key Competencies and Qualifications

    • In-depth knowledge of the candle, fragrance or home décor retail landscape is a plus.

    Responsibilities

    YOUR JOB

    As ERP Administrator (m/f/d) at GG Brands you are the first point of contact for the ERP system (Microsoft Business Central) of an e-commerce & B2B company. You will support about 30 users with questions in their daily business, advise the departments on the further development of the system and solve emerging technical problems in close cooperation with our external partner. Our office is located in Berlin-Mitte within walking distance of the main train station. Your work-life balance is important to you? You can also work 10 days per month remotely, 3 days per month also from another country within the European Union. Part-time employment is also possible, if you ​are flexible in technical emergencies.

    YOUR MISSION

    • You are responsible for the in-house administration of the ERP system (Microsoft Business Central) as well as the support of the ERP users.
    • You troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Microsoft Business Central and ensure system security and user access control.
    • As an interface to the specialist departments (Supply Chain, IT, Marketing & Sales, Customer Service, Finance & BI), you will also play an important role in the further development of the ERP system. You will analyze and document business processes to identify areas for process improvement and provide solutions. 
    • You will perform system testing, data migrations and integration tasks. You will work closely with our external partner for further programming of the system.
    • Additionally, you will train users to increase their independence in using the system.

     

    YOUR EXPERIENCE

    • You have a degree as an IT specialist (application development, system integration), IT systems electronics technician, IT systems clerk, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in computer science or similar training.
    • More important than your educational background, however, is that you already have at least 3 years of experience implementing and customizing Microsoft Business Central.
    • Experience from an e-commerce company is an advantage, but not a must.
    • You should also have excellent problem solving skills and enjoy troubleshooting technical issues.
    • As this position requires you to work very independently with a reporting line directly to management, you should have strong organizational and implementation skills and a willingness to take ownership of decisions within your area.
    • Strong communication skills are also a must for this position as you will be in constant communication with various departments and external contacts.
    • You should be able to express yourself well in written and oral English, German language skills are an advantage but not a must.
